"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." Aristotle
I love City Hill--the community, the diversity, the commitment to learning! City Hill is a model school of teachers honoring the young mind's ambition to acquire information and the spirit's need to feel safe, validated, and appreciated. I have taught for over 10 years, and it is my honor to hopefully stay in Naugatuck for the remainder of my career.
As a teacher, my biggest focus is on cultivating inquisitive, informed citizens. Students will be challenged with articulating and defending their viewpoints by exploring opposing ones. Students will be challenged to refine their skills and garner new knowledge. Students will be challenged to be kind to others, fair to themselves, and responsible for their choices in contributing to a positive community. Students will be challenged to work together to accomplish a common goals.
Students will leave my class at year's end prepared for the high school.
