7th Grade Social Studies Teacher / Boys Basketball Coach
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

My name is David Trotta, I teach 7th grade Social Studies for the white team. I am also the boys basketball coach.
At City Hill, we strive to reach the Vision of the Graduate, in which we empower our students to be Responsible Citizens, Researchers, Innovators, Informed Thinkers, Communicators, and Problem Solvers. Through our coursework this year, we will touch on each of these attributes.
In Social Studies, we will explore several regions of the world: North America, South America, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe. These regions will be explored through the lens of various themes, with the larger themes being "Identity" and "Power."
If you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open, feel free to email or message me using the "Remind" App. I look forward to hearing from you!
About Mr. Trotta
Teaching is something of a dream job for me. I have always enjoyed helping others understand new and challenging concepts, and the opportunity to work with teenagers, molding them as both students and as people, is an honor. This is my 5th year working in Naugatuck and it has been an incredible experience thus far. The administration and my fellow teachers are extremely supportive and we all have the same vision: student success in our district, specifically through the Vision of the Graduate. I am also a huge sports fan, and therefore have the priviledge of coaching the boys basketball team at CHMS.
